| Welcome to the Domestic Water Treatment Association website.
The DWTA was established in 2004 with an objective to introduce and promote product and installation quality standards for the chemical water treatment sector. We work with the heating industry, government and customer groups to ensure chemical water treatment is recognised for its contribution in providing the level of performance a customer should expect from a heating system.
Since 2004, the DWTA membership has made the following contributions towards establishing a firm and stable market for quality chemical treatment products:
- Steered the inclusion of chemical water treatment into Part L Domestic Heating Compliance Guide 2006 (England & Wales)
- Launched the DWTA/BuildCert product performance standard for chemical inhibitors
- Co-authored the revised BS7593 (2006): Code of practice for treatment of water in domestic hot water central heating systems
- Published the DWTA Code of Practice for Chemical Cleaning and Inhibiting of Domestic Hot Water Central Heating Systems
By using products that conform to the DWTA standard specification and treating heating systems in line with BS7593 or the DWTA code of practice, customers can rest assured that their central heating will maintain its efficiency for a minimum of 10 years. With this performance assurance, the DWTA is unrivalled in demonstrating customer benefits.
